The obedience I'm talking about here is not an obedience that earns salvation (and thus pays for one's sin) but an obedience that God calls us to as a daily demonstration of our love for him. Because he's asked us to obey certain guidelines outlined in his Word, when we obey these guidelines (out of love for him and thankfulness for our salvation), he's freed up to bless us according to his promise. The obedience I’m talking about here is not an obedience that earns salvation (and thus pays for one’s sin) but an obedience that God calls us to as a daily demonstration of our love for him.
